The moats surrounding the Imperial Palace, which can be reached within a few minutes' walk from Tokyo Station, are visited by many waterfowl in winter. The highlight here is Falcated Duck, an East Asian endemic species of duck, with the male's head covered with a green sheen, giving it an elegant appearance. We walk along the moat to Kitanomaru Park. Here there are bushes, thickets, lawns, ponds, and a wide variety of birds. Varied and Japanese Tit, and Japanese Pygmy Woodpecker, which are familiar in Japan but endemic species in East Asia. You can also expect to see winter birds such as Daurian Redstart and Dusky Thrush. Although they are rarely seen, you can also hear the calls from Japanese Bush Warbler in the bushes. After 90 minutes of bird watching, the tour will end at the Kudanshita Station. You may return to your hotel for breakfast or stop by Yasukuni Shrine. The bird watching before breakfast will refresh your mind and body. You will be able to see birds that can only be found in East Asia and Asia, so please join us.
